STRESS...FRACTURE!

You know.. there seems to be a lot of stress when training for such a huge race... time commitment, and more so time management is HUGE.. however after many little bumps.. I decided that I was ready to push myself a little farther...

and I am paying for it..
Why? I didn't tape my foot.. My feet were so beat up a while ago.. and good ol' duct tape was working.. (if you have done any tri.. even one .. you know athletic tape doesn't quite do the trick.... it loosens up, but more so feels like I could just pull it off... so I went to Dad's suggestion.. DUCT TAPE)

But the mere fact of a couple weddings..and really lathering up those puppies.. they are actually looking and feeling good... so Sunday.. I went for a killlller hilly run.. at least for me..
Looking (if I knew how to upload it I would) to my mapmyrun.. I ran right at 13.05 miles... Minimum elevation.. 686ft... Maximum 925 ft... Ascent.. 305 ft.. descent -299 ft.. HILLY..
But then as I came home.. my left foot started to hurt..AGAIN... but this time underneath..
I went to my hero MaryAnn in therapy, and she said if there is a stress fracture... your bones at the high frequency of heat will cause them to vibrate.. and before I knew it.. hey my foot is vibrating.. not consistantly, but enough to feel it.. so back to no running for a week..
there are many times throughout this journey that I have to think..what am I doing.. can I do this... but then I have to remember allllll the times I thought no way, and thought.. yes way! come on.. get some rest..stay on top of it with ice, and ultra sound, and it isn't huge yet.. YOU CAN AND YOU WILL...
I got an amazing reflexology appointment with Andrea today.. she has amazing healing fingers, and I am grateful for angels like her.. it felt great, and I will really keep this up until race day..
until then.. I am investing in new pair of heel support and cushioned shoes.. any suggestions??? anyone?? bueller??
I WILL.....

Jess, so sorry to hear about the stress fracture. Are you sure it's just a week off kind of thing?

Are you still up for riding Friday?
