TWO HOUR FUN TRAINER INTERVAL RIDE!

Outside Riding Partners... (@ Mary's Team Trial Race in Cleves)

Inside Riding Partners (@ my lovely Leonard house.. front guest room!)

Today, Mary came over and it was yet another first. Jason had helped me in the past load up my bike, and make sure my indoor trainer (complements of I-want-to-be-like-you-or-just-have-one-of-your-500-bikes-Joe Yorio) and the first 10 minutes felt fine... however, my horrrrible, I will never wear them again shorts had to go, so I jumped off real quick, changed and back on I went... that is one beautiful thing about being inside, in my own home none the less...

I had no idea really how to get comfortable on the bike, but after a little bit, I finally felt the beat in the music, and had the beat take over my legs... Mary's (http://maryasunshine.blogspot.com/ ) dialogue says it best:

""""After about a half hour I started m first PI (Power Interval)...was supposed to be 250 Watts but since my POS PT was not going to give me my wattage, I just decided to CRANK as hard as possible for the one minute. and so I did.

Mary: "Something smells like it's burning..."

Jess: "Dunno, might be your tire."
Mary: "Oh."

Jess's Dad came in and took a pic for Jess's blog. then I started the second PI and the burning smell returned....hmm.

Then I was nearly through the third PI and....well...see photo - [[click on it for a larger picture of our awesome accomplishments today..check out Mary's heart rate.. I really need to get a heart rate monitor]]

i LAUGHED HARDER THAN I HAVE IN A REALLY LONG TIME WHILE PICKING UP SWEATY SELF, MY BIKE, AND TO A LESSER EXTENT...JESS AND THE BOYFRIEND.""""""

I laughed so hard because it was almost a year ago that my goal was to have a ride without any blood... If I was out on the road, by myself, or with the great almighty JD that I was falling off my bike, on land, and bleeding uncontrollably, but today it was just inside, and Mary and I just laughed. It is great to know Mary is not 100% super hero on the bike.... probably 99.9% but that little accident proved to me she can have little falls just like me at times...
I have left my sweat sheet down, and my goal is to get my arse up and moving first thing in the morning (on the days I don't train my clients at 6) or for at least an hour when I come home. Dad did make a pretty sweet get-up for my front tire....

Another thing I learned is how much I love music, if it isn't being played, I am always, as Mary hears, talking to myself out loud. When we rode the IMLOU route this summer, I kept saying, yelling for that matter.. I WILL get up this hill, (during the up hill on the out and back) and today I just kept picturing that hill over and over and over... it is an awesome feeling.

alas, It is a new beginning... I will continue to jump on Mr. Boyfriend, and wish only strong bike legs from here on out... Looking forward to our next T-Party... Trainer Party that is with Mary.
