Every good journey should start clean and fresh...

Today was a great serendipity day for me.. I woke up early expecting to go watch the Men's Finals at the Western Southern Tournament with my mom, and after not hearing from her of when she was going to pick me up, I decided today was THE DAY..

I kidded on my facebook wall post stating:

‎"How to Train for Your Second Ironman" Chapter 1: The First step to training for IMKY 2011..Clean Bike from last ride during IMKY 2009. To do so, Place glove on left hand, place glove on right hand. Remove handle tape off the bike, spray gingerly 409 over frame of the bike, and pray you don't remember the sweat, powerbar jells, spit, dropped fluids, or anything else that fell on the bike during that 112 mile journey."

So today, I did just that.. I cleaned off my bike.. Check out these before pics.. Oh yes, I should also state I really haven't been on my bike since the Ironman last year.. I know I know..pathetic.. horrible. incredible.. unreal.. but true ! haha, Look I still had my sticker on it, and it was quite mixed emotions taking off that sticker...

You know that old wives tale with the band-aid.. if you go and steady it will actually hurt more, just pulling it off quicker is less painful.. it is true :)

but more so, lots of things have changed in the past year, I bought my own little house (well- condo, but I bought it, not renting) ... I haven't blogged much at all, but I am changing that, got a cute new background, and decided it is time.. because now more so I have this crazy goal (which I will) to raise 20,000 DOLLARS for the Cincinnati Chapter of GIRLS ON THE RUN! I have many new ideas, and I can't wait to start this journey much like I did two years ago...

A long day volunteering is one of the most incredible ways to spend a day, especially when it is with over a thousand of your closest friends. Sunday August 29, I will volunteer again during the Ironman in Louisville... and August 30, I will sign up to start that single step towards my journey ..AGAIN :)
